Even though some of our packaging materials products aren't specifically marketed as corner or edge protectors they can have some effect in guarding the edges or corners of your stored or transported goods. Bubble wrap, for instance, has always been a fine all-purpose wrapping material, being cost-effective, lightweight and genuinely protective. It can easily be shaped around the contours of most products. However in some instances, a far more precise and reliable application will be required to insure the upmost protection is given too an corner or edge.
If your products have corners that specifically require protection, you may want to look at our 'UT' polyethylene foam covers, which give excellent corner and impact protection. These are often best suited to fit products such as tables, doors and panels. We have six different widths available, from 5mm to 80mm so there is sure to be a suitable profile size to snugly fit. Related to these are our expanded polystyrene (EPS) and closed cell non-abrasive foam (PE) three point corner protectors, which have long sold well on account of their light weight and shock absorbing qualities.
Elsewhere in our range can be found plastic corner protectors, which can be specified in three different styles: open corner, closed corner and expanding corner. Open corner protectors are generally best suited for three point surfaces, expanding corner protectors if you need something stretchable to fit varying widths, or closed corner protectors if the products are the same width.
Edge protection of products is also vital. On offer from our stock range are solid cardboard edge protectors in standard one metre, "L" shape lengths. These particular edge protectors are regularly chosen not only to protect the edges of certain panel products but are also popular for the stabilisation of pallets and the reinforcement of cartons. A number of smaller cardboard “L” shape lengths are stocked for the protection of products from strapping. We are also able to offer bespoke “L” shape or “U” shape profile cardboard edge protectors, for three sided protection to meet your exact requirements. Custom printing is also available on our cardboard edge protectors. In addition to cardboard our most popular edge protection range are the polyethylene LDPE foam “L” and “U” profiles. Supplied in standard two metre lengths and in ten profile widths they compliment the “UT” corner protectors and offer maximum cushioning and impact resistance. “L” profiles are ideal for right angle edges along with some other more specialist Screenguard options which are ideal for glass products and “O” profiles for tubular shapes.
When it's edge or corner protection that you require, to the highest standard and at the right price, there's no reason to look any further than Simpson Packaging.
