Stretch wrap works much as its name suggests, by stretching over the items in question and wrapping around them, keeping them tightly bound and protected against unwanted movement, damage and the elements. Its elasticity is in contrast to shrink wrap, which, after being applied around the item loosely, shrinks tightly when brought into contact with a heat shrink gun.

You should allow a 30-50 per cent overlap as you continue wrapping around the load in an upward motion. The film should be slightly stretched when wrapping around each corner.

The wrapping can then be concluded by tearing off the roll and securing the loose end to the pallet, with the use of the palm of your hand to apply light pressure.
