Does your business involve the storage and transportation of large numbers of items on a pallet? If your sector of business is manufacturing, your answer is very likely to be "yes", and there can be few more cost-effective means of keeping your items secured to that pallet than stretch wrap, as we offer it in an abundance here at Simpson Packaging.

Does your business involve the storage and transportation of large numbers of items on a pallet? If your sector of business is manufacturing, your answer is very likely to be "yes", and there can be few more cost-effective means of keeping your items secured to that pallet than stretch wrap, as we offer it in an abundance here at Simpson Packaging (http://www.simpson-packaging.co.uk).

Stretch wrap works much as its name suggests, by stretching over the items in question and wrapping around them, keeping them tightly bound and protected against unwanted movement, damage and the elements. Its elasticity is in contrast to shrink wrap, which, after being applied around the item loosely, shrinks tightly when brought into contact with a heat shrink gun.

Whether you call it stretch wrap or stretch film, it's one of the most commonly used packaging materials throughout industry, and there's a very extensive range of it here at Simpson Packaging, with clear flush and extended core hand film, black opaque security film, jumbo machine applied stretch wrap rolls and mini handy wrap bundling rolls all available.

As an alternative you may appreciate our Q-Lite Pre-Stretch film, which enables even easier and more efficient wrapping of your pallets. Due to the film not needing to be stretched unlike standard stretch wrap, whoever is applying the wrap is unlikely to suffer from as much fatigue and back strain. Load holding is also superior, with higher tear and impact resistance and packaging costs and waste are both lowered as a result of its use.

It couldn't be quicker, easier or safer to apply Q-Lite. You simply need to unwind one metre of the pre-stretched film, before tying it to the foot of the pallet. By then wrapping the film around the base of the load and pallet three or four times, you can secure the two together. You should allow a 30-50 per cent overlap as you continue wrapping around the load in an upward motion. The film should be slightly stretched when wrapping around each corner.

The wrapping can then be concluded by tearing off the roll and securing the loose end to the pallet, with the use of the palm of your hand to apply light pressure. Meanwhile, environmentally conscious companies now have the option of the Q-Lite Coreless Pre-Stretch Film, which offers more wrap per roll, with virtually no material being wasted compared to traditional rolls. There are no cardboard cores that you will need to dispose of. Instead a plastic reusable dispenser is inserted into the roll for application.

If you thought that covered all of the stretch wrap requirements that your company could possibly have, Simpson Packaging (http://www.simpson-packaging.co.uk) also offers stretch wrap machines. A range of standard core and power pre stretch wrap machines are available along with a number of accessories. For large stretch wrap dependent users you will be glad to make the switch and choose to machine wrap rather than hand wrap, given how much film, time, expense and manpower it helps you to save, and you'll be especially glad you bought all of your stretch wrap from us, industry leaders offering a friendly, professional service at very competitive prices.
